There are several reasons why we, the casual artists of Mabinogi, tend to draw pictures of placid looking characters.

1.) It takes SOOO much more time! And it starts with even getting a NATURAL looking body pose that doesn't look like your character is purposely going out of their way to look weird. It takes several sketches of the same body structure, unless you're doing it real life (then it's considerably easier to make a nicer looking body sketch, unless you're very experienced you still will probably do it in pencil and with guidelines), not to mention having to learn how to -draw- the other monster. And in a pose that is convincing in relation to the pose of your character.

Yes, I draw a lot of pictures of Angron and Jae together, but I actually do it for a reason other than my ABSOLUTE LOVE of his character's hair style. I was trying to practice on drawing people in natural looking "couple positions".

2.) Well, I pretty much summed it up in number one that you needed experience, but since my main concern was about the TIME it takes to draw it...

Ehem. *Clears throat* It also takes knowing how to draw that type of stuff. There's a WORLD of difference between drawing a profile sketch and drawing a full out scene. I usually completely leave out any back groundry stuff to deal with.

3.) Motivation. While -I- would be willing to draw a picture of Jake and Jinn, if you're wanting a -competition- of people drawing to draw those characters, then you might come up a little short on contestants unless there's a substantially good reason as to why they should be drawing these two characters. While my motivation would probably come to the fact that I genuinely like both of those characters, and have spent a lot of time with them in character as well as being friends with them out of character, others might not have the same amount of motivation and therefore shirk it off, despite having a want to do it.

4.) You have to provide us with pose pictures! Stock photos! >: (

5.) AND YOU MUST OFFER FESTIVE JELLY BEANS!

Ehem. Having that all been said, I suck at drawing action scenes. ^^

Anyway, I think she was suggesting that we draw our characters in action poses, not theirs.

*holds up the proverbial baby photo book* I took a trip down memory lane while visiting my Photobucket and decided to share a few inspirational piccies I drew. XD This one's an old concept sketch I did for a Marvel superhero roleplay I was part of. Around the time the Ghost Rider movie came out, this was all I could think about doing to the guy, so I drew my character doing such. Hellfire smores. Yummy.



*flips the page* And then my phantom knight character from an long-short story based off a system failure from an RO client I was a part of... X3;




*flips the page again!* Aaaand then this is the samurai character I had based Gatemo off of before he went way off-tangent.

Yea, I was making profiles in my school because my characters are going to be in a book I am going to write if I ever get to it... My friend was very interested and wanted to draw the two females I already made profiles for.. The first one is Easy to guess.. I bet ou dunno the second one
